Kenyan pilots held in Akobo released

Two Kenyan pilots who were held by an armed group in Akobo, were released on Monday after a ransom of almost $110,000 was paid to the captors. The captives were identified by the Kenyan Foreign Affairs Ministry as Captain Frank Njoroge and the Co-pilot, Kennedy Shamalla. Trademark East Africa (TMEA) has launched the process of setting up a logistics centre in Gulu town to facilitate trade between Uganda, Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan. Government wants foreign minister Deng Alor to resign

South Sudan’s government said it wants the country’s minister of foreign affairs Deng Alor Kuol to resign for allegedly lobbying secretly for targeted Western sanctions against government officials. Deng Alor is now representing the SPLM-FDs group in the incumbent government led by President Salva Kiir according to the 2015 peace deal.
